About Japanese stamp
(A) The Note on Japanese personal seal
Japanese customs is quite different from those of western countries or
other nations. You must be already aware of that!
The personal seal (stamp) will be one of symbolic aspect in Japanese culture, which is necessary for persons when you go through your formal procedure on living in Japan during long term or permanent period. Particularly, REGISTERED SEAL represent your formal signature in Japan.

(B) Classification and the Uses of Japanese Stamps
The Stamps can be classified into three sorts according to your object.
- Registered stamp
- Bank stamp
- Signet
1.Registered personal stamp ( JITSU - IN )
This is a stamp to be registered officially in public (government) office such as a city office, town office and ward office. In other words, this stamp has its Certificate (INKAN-SHOMEI) to identify that person legally.
This registration must be made with submission of prescribed form at your public office under your jurisdiction where your residence belongs.
The eligible name for stamp is restricted to one of names that described on your Certificate of Alien Registration card. (GAIJIN - TOROKU-SHO).
For example, if you have names described in both ALPHABET character and KATAKANA or HIRAGANA character, you can choose whichever you like. However if you have only one name shown on your Certificate of Alien Registration (GAIJIN-TOROKU-SHO), the eligible name must be chosen from same one.
* Additional information for Registered Stamp
1.Material (Face of stamp)
The print face must not be made by rubber or something to get scratched easily.
2.The size of print face
That may differ from each city or town government you belong. We do not guarantee 100% if your size is correct with the size we offer, however our products were examined the average size over the nation.
We recommend you to check them before you order just to make sure.
3.Registered Notebook or Card for your Stamp
After registration of your stamp, you will receive small Notebook or Card with your own registered number.
You are required to show them at your public office, whenever you ask to issue your Stamp Certificate. (INKAN- SHOMEI)
4.When do you need your Registered Stamp ?
Deed, Purchase of your car, Registry of property, Final income tax return, Document for loan, etc.
This stamp will be very significant for you during your stay in Japan. You need close attention to use and keep that in a safe place.
2.Bank stamp (GINKO-IN)
This is for when you open your bank account and also required same stamp when you make a contract for CREDIT CARD, payment by AUTOMATIC DEDUCTION from your bank account for the charges of electricity and gas, etc. Some use this stamp as both Bank stamp and Signet. From view point of protection against loss, breakage and wreck, we recommend you to separate each stamp.
3.Signet
This is a stamp for when you receive your registered mail or courier
service, acknowledgement of documents and circulars etc.
Some use this stamp as both Signet and Bank stamp however, Signet tends to be used in your daily life frequently. That is why we recommend you to separate from Bank stamp, to secure from missing.

1.Registered personal stamp
Your name of stamp should be a name from your plural names described on your Certificate of Alien Registration card.(Real name or Alias name)
You can use any part of your name on your full name, or alias name registered on your Certificate of Alien Registration as examples below.
(Example-1) JReal name: Julia Nobuko Takahashi (Registered name on Certificate of Alien Registration)
Your option will be :

(Example-2) Alias name: ジュリア ノブコ タカハシ (Registered name on your Certificate of Alien Registration)

All names shown above can be used for Registered stamp and Bank stamp.
2.Bank stamp
The name for this stamp should be made with any one of your name which can be identified yourself easily. The name on your Certificate of Alien Registration would be recommended.
3.Signet
Any name with you will be available. However your family name would be recommended.
